Police arrest suspect in fatal shooting in Anacostia
Version 0 of 1. D.C. police on Thursday arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred on a February afternoon near a public library in Southeast Washington’s Anacostia neighborhood. Alphonso Roberts, 32, of Southeast, was charged with second-degree murder. He could make an initial appearance in D.C. Superior Court on Thursday or Friday. [Man shot, killed near library in Anacostia] He is charged with killing Maurico Walker, 23, of Northeast, who died at a hospital several hours after he was shot about 4 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the 1900 block of 18th Street SE. It is near the Anacostia Neighborhood Library. Police did not release information about a possible motive. |
