Police Scotland said a 31-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the murder. A Police Scotland investigator said the force are "keeping an open mind" about the possible reason for the attack, but would not rule out a "sexual motive".  Ms Doherty left her friend's house after a sleepover around 8.15 on Saturday, to travel by bus to a hairdressers where she worked.
Friends of the girl raised more than £12,000 for her family, through two crowdfunding campaigns. She bought a sausage roll from the Delicious Deli in Clydebank on the way to the bus stop. However, it is unknown if she arrived at the stop.
