Police investigating dissident republican activity in County Donegal have discovered bomb-making equipment in a wooded area. | |
It was found at Mongorry Wood, an isolated area near Raphoe on Thursday. Searches in the area are continuing. | |
Gardaà have refused to give any details about the items, which have been taken to Letterkenny for examination. | |
Meanwhile, gardaà have been given a further 24 hours to question three Tyrone men about dissident activity. | |
This includes the murder of Strabane man Andrew Burns. | |
The men were arrested in Donegal on Tuesday. Mr Burns was shot dead in February. | |
Mr Burns was found near a church in the border village of Doneyloop, Donegal. | |
The PSNI has been working closely with the Garda in the murder investigation. |
