Version 0 of 1.

A handyman has been charged with the murder of 61-year-old British woman on an extended holiday in Jamaica.

Omar Reid, 30, is accused of killing Barbara Scott-Jones, whose body was found in a pit near her holiday home in the northwest of the Caribbean island.

The former nurse from Leeds went missing in March and was found dead with a skull fracture on Good Friday.

Mr Reid, who was arrested on Thursday, is due to appear in court later in the week, police said.

'Wonderful, selfless woman'

She was reported missing on 14 March by her family in the UK who became concerned after she failed to return calls.

They said she had been travelling to the country for extended periods for many years and had been renovating her holiday home.

Ms Scott-Jones was described by her family as a "wonderful, selfless woman".

She had several wounds to the head, a broken nose and teeth, and a fractured skull.

The skull injury was probably the cause of death, police said.
