According to the World Happiness Report 2016 Update, released last month ahead of UN World Happiness Day on 20 March, Canada is the sixth happiest country in the world. From an outsider’s perspective it seems Canada is able to remain at ease with itself despite facing the same difficult challenges as the rest of the world. The continuing climate alliance with the US and the taking in of additional Syrian refugees are just two of the positive stories that have emerged recently.
