There was no official confirmation of the cause of the blast but the Daily Sabah newspaper reported that a 25-year-old female suicide bomber was believed to be responsible. A spokesperson for the Governor of Bursa’s office said a female suicide bomber died in the attack outside the mosque’s western gate.
Media reports said at least one person was dead and six injured. “According to the latest information, seven injured citizens have been taken to nearest health institutions has been received,” a statement said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, which comes after a spate of attacks by Isis and Kurdish rebels in Turkey. “Our law enforcement agencies continue their investigations into the incident.”
