The woman, named by police as Caroline Francesca Bayley, 29, from Bristol, was found on Sunday. The body of Caroline Francesca Bayley, 29, from Bristol, was found floating on the surface of the River Iguaza on Sunday, naval police said.
Ms Bayley had been reported missing two days earlier. Ms Bayley, who was travelling alone, was reported missing two days earlier.
A police spokesman said: "On the 13th (of April) in the evening, her body was found floating on the surface of the Rio (River) Iguazu." She was last seen on a viewing platform at the falls - a complex of waterfalls on the Argentinian-Brazilian border which is a major tourist attraction.
Naval police said it was too early to establish the cause of death.
A spokesman said: "The woman was walking on a walkway at the Devil's Throat on the 11th of the month (April) when she went missing."
Earlier reports said that the search had been prompted when Ms Bayley's shoes had been found on the viewing platform.
Her body was later found 120 yards (109m) down the river from the platform.
The Devil's Throat is the largest of 275 waterfalls at the site.
Officers said the body had been taken to police headquarters and an autopsy would be carried out.
A police spokesman said: "Our thoughts are with her family."
The hotel where Ms Bayley was staying said it could not comment.
