Father and son laid in one coffin
(about 17 hours later) | |
A three-year-old boy and his father who were killed in a fire at their family home near Inverness have been laid to rest inside the same coffin.
A service was held at Inverness Crematorium for Colin Stocks, 45, and Stuart who died when fire broke out at the house in Foyers.
Mr Stocks' wife Geraldine, 43, managed to flee the flames with their other son, Andrew, seven.
She described them as having "great energy, strength and determination".
More than 200 mourners paid their respects to 45-year-old Mr Stocks, who twice battled a brain tumour, and Stuart.
Mrs Stocks told the congregation: "Colin was a man of amazing knowledge. Part of that he has passed on to myself and Andrew.
The fire at the house near Loch Ness happened more than a week ago
"Emotionally he was very strong for me. He was always there when I needed him. With his wealth of knowledge and experience he always knew the right thing to say and do.
"We were a team together."
She added: "The day we got married he was so handsome, he looked like James Bond. I couldn't believe my luck."
Of her son, Mrs Stocks said: "Stuart was a menace. He always surprised us with what he would get up to. Like his daddy, he had great energy, strength and determination.
"Me and Andrew will keep an eye on the stars at night. We will miss them greatly, but will always have their love." |
