A large aircraft has crashed into an area of the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo town of Goma. A passenger plane has crashed after take-off in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo town of Goma with at least 60 people aboard.
Witnesses reported smoke and fire after the crash, which was said to have occurred just after take-off. Rescue services were battling a large fire, witnesses said. There is no word on the number of casualties.
It is not known how many people were on board. There are conflicting reports on what type of aircraft it was. It was unclear what type of aircraft it was. Officials said it belonged to the private airline Hewa Bora.

It faltered after take-off and crashed into a populated neighbourhood, Mr Mpaluku said.
