Mr Blight said Mr Beadle was the "focus of my attention" on Sunday, and accepted the manager's behaviour had not been acceptable, but added like many managers he "wears his heart on his sleeve". Det Insp Steve Webber from Gwent Police said an investigation into the incident was continuing.
"We are liaising closely with the club in an effort to trace the offenders. As part of our intelligence gathering we will be examining footage taken by our own evidence gathering teams as well as other television coverage," he said.

Officers are also investigating some disturbances which occurred towards the end of the game and said they would be making further enquiries to identify offenders.
