(35 minutes later) | |
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a house in Surrey.
The body of the woman in her 30s was found at a house in the St George’s Hill area of Weybridge on Saturday morning, Surrey police said. A man, also in his 30s, was found with serious injuries at the same address in Crossfield Place, close to Weybridge Station, and was taken to hospital for treatment, officers said.
The victim has not been formally identified but police believe they know her identity and her family have been informed. DCI Jason Taylor said: “This is a tragic incident and we will do all we can to support the woman’s family.”
Police went to the house after being alerted by an ambulance crew shortly after 10am. The house is situated on a private residential street, which was taped off on Saturday afternoon, with police cars outside the premises.
A spokesman for the residents’ association at the 964-acre private gated community of St George’s Hill said the incident did not happen there. |
