A man and woman have been charged with murdering a man whose body was found in the River Severn in December. The 59-year-old wife of a lorry driver found dead in a river has appeared in court charged with his murder.
Reginald Southall, 62, from Stourport, Worcestershire, suffered injuries to his head and body before drowning in the river in the town. Reginald Southall, 62, was discovered in the River Severn in Stourport, Worcs, on 16 December. He had suffered multiple injuries to his head and body.
A 58-year-old man and 59-year-old woman, both from Stourport, have been charged with murder and perverting the course of justice. Muriel Southall, of Stourport Caravan Park, and Michael Whitcombe, 58, of Stourport, are charged with murder and perverting the course of justice.
They were due to appear before Kidderminster magistrates on Saturday. They appeared before magistrates and were remanded in custody on Saturday.
Mr Southall came from the Redstone Lane area of Stourport. Mrs Southall and Mr Whitcombe, who is from Four Acres Caravan Park, went before magistrates in Kidderminster and are to appear at Worcester Crown Court on 24 April.
