Hundreds of volunteers are expected to take part in the 20th anniversary of a mass clean-up operation, on beaches along the entire Dorset coastline.

The annual Great Dorset Beach Clean covers 25 beaches from Lyme Regis to Steamer Point in Christchurch.

Many of them are often littered with rubbish and plastic - posing a danger to marine animals and other wildlife.

Last year, 700 people collected about 800 sacks of litter. The anniversary event will be held on Sunday.

The event has been organised by Dorset County Council Countryside Ranger Service and the Dorset Coast Forum.
