Mother suspected of murder after three boys' bodies found at Phoenix home
Version 0 of 1. A Phoenix mother is suspected of stabbing her three young sons to death and putting their remains in a closet before trying to kill herself, police have said. The 29-year-old woman was in hospital in critical condition with stab wounds on Thursday night. The boys were named by authorities as Jaikare Rahaman, 8, Jeremiah Adams, 5, and Avery Robinson, two months old. Police said the woman’s brother had found her in an agitated state when he arrived home from work on Wednesday night, had to force his way inside and tried to give first aid when she harmed herself. He called police, who found the boys’ remains after the mother was taken to hospital. Neighbors had often seen the older boys riding their bikes outside their home along a winding one-way street in central Phoenix. Next-door neighbor Shelley Severns said her children played with the older boys. “I’m still processing all of this. It’s very tragic because you don’t know why this happens,” Severns said. Another neighbor, Lynn Roberson, said the older boys had only recently learned to ride their bikes. “I would always encourage them to keep practicing,” she said. “There were no red flags,” Roberson said. The mother was expected to survive, police said. |
