Rescuers pulled a mother and baby out of a car after it went into a canal in Derbyshire, police said. Rescuers dragged a mother and her 13-month-old baby from a submerged car after it crashed into a canal.
The Peugeot car, driven by the girl's mother, collided with another car in Barrow-on-Trent before ending up in the canal on Wednesday afternoon. The car had collided with another vehicle in Barrow-on-Trent, Derbyshire, before careering into the canal on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the other car and a member of the public pulled the mother and 13-month baby from the vehicle. Two nurses gave first aid and resuscitated the baby, before she and her mother were flown to hospital by air ambulance.
The mother was not seriously hurt. The baby is stable in intensive care at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham. The baby is now in intensive care at the Queen's Medical centre, Nottingham.
