Double-decker bus roof ripped off after collision with railway bridge
Version 0 of 1. The roof of a double-decker bus has been ripped off after it became wedged underneath a railway bridge. The Stagecoach bus did not have any passengers on board when the collision happened at about 7pm on Tuesday in Middleton, Greater Manchester. The incident took place between Joshua Lane and Mills Hill Road as the out-of-service bus was returning to a nearby depot. Greater Manchester police tweeted a picture of the damaged bus with the caption: Big recover bill and 1 less bus on the roads. The force later tweeted: “Luckily no one was on the top deck and no one hurt.” In September, a First double-decker bus smashed into a railway bridge in nearby Rochdale when it went off-route. Twelve people were taken to hospital. |
