Four escape car rock face plunge

Four people have had a lucky escape after the car they were travelling in careered down a rock face in Edinburgh.

The Peugeot 206 was travelling on the High Road at Holyrood Park when the accident happened just before 0100 BST.

The 18-year-old driver and two of the passengers, a 19-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The car travelled 450ft but the injuries sustained by the occupants were not thought to be serious.

The vehicle will be moved later on Thursday morning.

Police said all four people were checked at the scene and three were taken to hospital.

Inquiries into the incident are under way.
