The 15 were taken to hospitals including Birmingham Children's Hospital, Selly Oak Hospital and City Hospital.
They included a man who lives in the house, who was not injured but the incident caused a flare-up in his medical condition, an ambulance service spokesman said.
Six ambulances were sent to the scene.
Firefighters have gone to the scene to decide if there has been any structural damage to the house.
