The search for a woman who got into difficulties in a river on Thursday is set to continue. The search for a woman missing in a river is continuing, as it emerged she may have been trying to help someone else in distress.
Officers started searching an area of the Great Ouse off Honey Hill Road in Bedford just after 20:00 BST. The woman, in her 30s, is believed to have got into difficulties herself in the process, said Bedfordshire Police.
Bedfordshire Police said the force was assisted by the fire service and a helicopter. Officers were called just after 20:00 BST on Thursday to an area of the Great Ouse off Honey Hill Road, Bedford.
A spokesman has asked people to leave the searches to the emergency services who have specialist officers and not put themselves at risk. After three hours of searching, the operation resumed on Friday with the help of specialist divers from Norfolk.
