Man arrested over 16-year-old Newark girl's death

A man has been arrested over the death of a 16-year-old girl in Nottinghamshire.

The teenager was found unconscious by police officers at an address in Pierson Street, Newark, just after midnight on Sunday.

Ambulance crews tried to resuscitate her but she died shortly after arriving at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

A 23-year-old man had been arrested and remains in custody.
