Tributes to blaze attack victim

Tributes have been paid to a young woman who died after being set on fire in County Armagh earlier this month.

Lisa McClatchey 21, and her partner Thomas O'Hare, 33, were attacked at their Tassagh home on 6 November. Mr O'Hare died last Friday.

Police plan to question four brothers over the attack. They remain seriously ill in a Dublin hospital with burns.

Reverend Colin Meneelly said Lisa was a "very energetic, enthusiastic" woman who was very involved in the community.

Reverend Meneelly, a minister at Thomas Street Methodist Church in Portadown, said Lisa was a sub-officer in the Girl's Brigade.

"Just three Sundays ago I commissioned her as a sub-officer in our company. The girls just loved Lisa," he added.

The couple were beaten by a gang of six masked men before being doused in a flammable liquid and set alight.

The brothers turned up at a hospital across the border in County Louth after the attack.

DCI David McConville appealed for informationAll were suffering from extensive burns and were transferred to a specialistunit at the St James's Hospital where they remain in a serious condition.

"The four had suffered serious burns, ranging from 35% to 55%," said ahospital spokesman.

"It is expected that they will require treatment at St James's Hospital forsome time."

DCI David McConville said detectives were following a definite line of enquiry.

Mr McConville said police "were still looking for at least two other individuals in connection with this double murder".

He appealed for anyone who was in Foley Road, Coolmillish Road, Ballymacnab or the Friary Road area of Armagh or the Friary Road towards Newtownhamilton on the evening of the attack to contact police.

"I need to speak to anyone who has any information about a dark coloured Vauxhall Vectra car, a Rover 200 series car and a BMW 3-series car in these areas on the evening of Monday 6 November," he said.

"I also need to speak to the driver of a light coloured Renault Megane car, the new model, who was in the area of Foley Road around 9pm on the evening of Monday 6 November."

A 43-year-old man has appeared in court on charges of withholding information about the incident.
