Ms Shahid had been visiting relatives in Northern Punjab when she died last week. The police have confirmed a bruise was found on Ms Shahid's neck after her death.
Her husband Syed Mukhtar Kazam believes his wife was killed because her family disapproved of their marriage. It was an 7.5in (19cm)-long mark around her neck below her right ear. An officer told the BBC it is detailed in the post-mortem report, but no action was taken because the doctor involved did not specify it was the cause of death.
No arrests have been made but Pakistan officers are investigating her father and want to speak to her first husband Choudhry Shakeel, who has disappeared. Mukhtar Kazim, her husband, believes his wife was killed because her family disapproved of their marriage.
