The bomb in the Shaab area in the east of the city exploded in a parked car during the morning rush hour and wounded at least 10 people. The bomb in the eastern Shaab district exploded in a parked car during the morning rush hour wounding at least 10.
Two of those killed were police officers believed to have been in a passing patrol. Two of those killed were police and there are reports of a second blast.
Last week, bomb attacks in the city killed about 15 people. The violence came after Iraqi police said 60 bodies of people bound, tortured and shot had been found in Baghdad since Tuesday morning.
They were found all over the city, from Sunni areas in the west to Shia districts east of the Tigris river but most were found in largely Sunni west Baghdad.
Fifteen were discovered in the east where most of the city's Shia live.
Police have not been able to identify any of the bodies, let alone whether they are Shia or Sunni, the BBC's James Shaw reports.
Sectarian killings in Baghdad are not unusual, but this is a large number of bodies to be recovered over a 24-hour period, our correspondent says.
The police have not been able to explain what seems to be a sudden increase in sectarian violence, he adds.
