A 22-year-old man has been arrested after climbing over a security fence at Buckingham Palace.  A 22-year-old man has been arrested after climbing over a security fence at Buckingham Palace.
The man from Croydon was seen on CCTV attempting to enter the Palace and arrested by officers within a “security perimeter” at around 4:15am on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Police said.
Police said the man had been drinking and was not armed. He did not gain access to the palace.  
No Taser was deployed by officers during his arrest and the incident is not thought to be terrorism-related.
It is understood that no members of the Royal Family were in residence at the palace at the time. The Queen is currently at Balmoral in Scotland.
Scotland Yard said the man is currently in custody at a police station in central London.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson has declined to comment.
