Railway safety compromised
Judie told the BBC that her experience of suffering sexual harassment at work had potentially put the lives of other people at risk.
She said: "When I was 20 onwards, I was a train driver in Cumbria... the early 90s, it was awful at times.
"By far the worst was Carlisle mess room - I'd walk in and the room would go silent. Then you'd hear some lewd comment and a spatter of laughter. This then grew until I could stand it no longer and would leave. I'd sit on a cold platform for an hour rather than deal with that.
"My experience now as a safety manager on railways tells me that this type of thing put me at a massive risk of having a safety incident as I wasn't getting enough rest, wasn't able to relax mid-shift and that last 15 minutes before arriving at Carlisle - where do you think my focus of attention was? Not on my train driving, that's for sure.
"As I got older, I got braver and more stubborn and eventually they got used to it and it stopped. There are more women now and I've worked hard to make sure that these issues are addressed proactively."
