A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "We await to inform next of kin and for formal identification to take place." He was tackled by two Tube staff when he was seen, apparently drunk, with blood on his clothes and on the knife.

The man was seen wandering near the station's car park. Rail workers held him until police arrived.
