In an interview for the BBC, Margaret and Barry Mizen said the night before Jimmy, 16, was attacked "the last thing we did was we all cuddled". Police are still hunting the killer who had tried to pick a fight with 16-year-old Jimmy Mizen.
However, Jimmy had tried to avoid a confrontation before he was assaulted.
