A man has been charged with committing a terrorist attack and the attempted murder of a man after a stabbing in Sydney’s west. A man has been charged with committing a terrorist attack, as well as attempted murder, after allegedly stabbing a man in Sydney’s west, leaving him in a critical condition.
The man was charged after another man was found with multiple stab wounds outside a home in Minto, about 4pm on Saturday afternoon. Police said emergency services were called to Minto at about 4pm on Saturday afternoon, where a 59-year-old man was allegedly stabbed a number of times while walking through a park.
The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was flown by helicopter to Liverpool hospital and is in a critical condition. On Sunday morning, joint counter-terrorism officers charged the man with committing a terrorist act and attempted murder.
He has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta bail court on Sunday.
