Version 0 of 1.

A doctor has been cleared of assaulting female ambulance and fire service recruits during medical checks.

GP Robert Lewis, 51, was found not guilty of five charges of indecent assault and one of sexual assault by a jury at Luton Crown Court.

He had denied using the checks as a pretext to "grab" breasts.

The judge ruled he had no case to answer on two other charges, but Lewis still faces sentencing for four previous convictions.

Lewis, of Shefford, Bedfordshire, who was based the Larksfield Surgery at Stotfold, near Hitchin, was found guilty last November of four charges of indecent assault.

He will be sentenced for those offences on Thursday.
