(35 minutes later)
France has said that war crimes are currently being committed in the Syrian city of Aleppo at a United Nations meeting on Sunday. The French Ambassador to the United Nations has said that war crimes are currently being committed in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Rebel held parts of the city have been under a renewed bombing campaign by the Syrian and Russian airforces since Wednesday. At least 200 people have been killed. Speaking at an emergency United Nations meeting on Sunday called to discuss President Bashar al-Assad's escalating military offensive, Francois Delattre said that war crimes are indeed being committed in the northern city, where 250,000 people live under siege conditions.
Rebel-held parts of the city have been under a renewed bombing campaign by the Syrian and Russian airforces since Wednesday. At least 200 people have been killed, monitors have said, but it has been difficult to document the wounded and casulties as the bombing has been so intense.

"War crimes are being committed here in Aleppo," Mr Delattre said. "They must not be unpunished and impunity is simply not an option in Syria."
