Man arrested at Hengistbury Head after woman's body found Natasha Wake named as Bournemouth murder victim

A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman was found in Bournemouth. A woman found dead at a house in Bournemouth, prompting a murder investigation, has been named as Natasha Wake.
Dorset Police were called to an address in Harley Gardens at about 14:20 BST on Sunday. Police were called to Harley Gardens on Sunday afternoon. The 26-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 26 year-old man from Plymouth, later arrested at Hengistbury Head on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody.
Armed officers, assisted by a helicopter, conducted a search of the area before a 26-year-old man was arrested at Hengistbury Head. Police said the victim and the arrested man were known to each other.
Det Insp Mark Samuel said: "Following the discovery of a woman's body, Dorset Police has launched a murder investigation. Although formal identification is yet to take place, Ms Wake's family are being kept updated by specially-trained officers.
"I am appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Harley Gardens area [on Saturday or Sunday] to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible. A post-mortem examination is due to take place and crime scene investigations are continuing at the house.
"Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out high-visibility patrols in the area over the coming days to offer reassurance to the community. They can be contacted with any concerns." Det Insp Mark Samuel said: "This is a tragic incident which has deeply saddened and shocked the community.
"I am appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Harley Gardens area [on Saturday or Sunday] to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible."
