The deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found in the same street a week apart are now being investigated as a double murder. A body found in a bin is being linked with the death of a woman in the same street a week earlier.
The body of the man was found in a bin outside a property in Essex Close, Luton, on Monday. A double murder investigation has been launched after the two deaths were discovered in Essex Close, Luton, seven days apart.
Police have now linked the case to the death of a woman who was found at a property in the same street on 10 October. Bedfordshire Police now believe the man found dead in the bin on Monday is connected to the death of a woman found at a property on 10 October.
The woman's death was initially being treated as unexplained. A man has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of murder.

Det Insp Fraser Wylie, senior investigating officer, said: "This is an incredibly complex investigation and we would like to reassure the public that we have a dedicated team of officers on the case, who are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of both the man and woman.
"I'd like to appeal for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Essex Close in the last week, in particular over the weekend leading to Monday 10 October."
The arrested man remains in police custody for questioning.
