Militants in Afghanistan's Ghor province kidnap and kill 30 civilians, officials tell BBC Thirty people have been kidnapped and killed by militants linked to so-called Islamic State group in Afghanistan's Ghor province, officials told the BBC.

IS has been gaining some support in Afghanistan and in some areas is challenging the Taliban.
The dead civilians included children, Ghor Governor Nasir Khazeh told AFP news agency.

The Taliban's dominance in a region home to numerous local and foreign militant groups is facing a serious challenge from IS.
There has also been evidence that IS is trying to recruit Taliban fighters, with several Taliban commanders declaring allegiance to IS.
