Councillor Leslie Cubitt said he believed local teenagers were to blame for starting the fire. It is not the first time the centre has been targeted - it was damaged in a similar attack a few years ago.
"It's a disgrace - anybody who knows anything about it must contact the police," he said. Local elected representatives said they believed drunken teenagers were behind this latest fire.
