Five seriously hurt in two-car crash near Poole

Five people have been seriously injured in a two-car crash in Dorset.

The A350 near Poole was closed for eight hours overnight following the crash near Lytchett Matravers at about 23:45 GMT on Thursday.

One woman, aged 29, from Blandford, was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

The other four casualties - two men and two women, all in their 20s - were taken to Poole Hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The A350 Blandford Road North was closed between the Roundhouse roundabout on the A31 and Limberloss on the A350 until just before 07:45 on Friday.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, which involved a blue Vauxhall Tigra and a blue Vauxhall Insignia.
