Restaurant body find 'suspicious' Pizzeria boss 'met violent death'

Police have said they are treating the death of a 25-year-old woman in the west end of Glasgow as suspicious. A manager whose body was found in a restaurant in Glasgow's west end met a violent death, police have said.
Officers were called to the Di Maggio's restaurant on Ruthven Lane when her body was found on Friday morning. A murder inquiry has been launched after Eleni Pachou's body was found in Di Maggio's pizzeria in Ruthven Lane by a staff member at 0820 GMT on Friday.
It is believed the woman is Greek and worked at the restaurant. It is thought she may have been stabbed as the restaurant closed late on Thursday. It is thought the 25-year-old, who was Greek, may have been stabbed as the restaurant closed late on Thursday.
Her body was discovered by a member of staff. The area was sealed off to allow forensic teams to investigate. Anyone who was in the area between 2345 GMT on Thursday and 0820 on Friday have been asked to contact police.
Strathclyde Police launched a murder inquiry after a post-mortem examination was carried out on Ms Pachou, who lived in the city's North Frederick Street.
'Sparkling woman'
Det ch insp Michael Feighan said: "Eleni was the victim of a violent death and our number one priority is to trace the person or persons responsible for this horrific crime.
"What we need is support and assistance from members of the public who may know something that could prove vital to the investigation, no matter how insignificant it may seem."
A spokesman for Di Maggio's said the murder was "a terrible shock to everyone".
"Eleni was a beautiful, sparkling young woman who was a valuable and very well-liked member of our team," he said.
"She first worked with us as a waitress for 12 months, until May 2007.
"When she rejoined us in October last year her obvious talent and flair saw her win a place on our trainee management programme, where she was excelling.
"Everyone here is absolutely stunned by this tragedy and our thoughts are very much with her family."
