The man, who was in his 50s, had been arrested on Wednesday afternoon in the Peak District and taken to the custody unit at Buxton police station. But during a routine check at 2am on Thursday he was found to be unresponsive. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) was contacted and investigators have gathered CCTV footage and interviewed police officers and staff.
