Ohio State University police warned of a gunman on campus on Monday morning. At least 10 people were transported to local hospitals after a gunman was reported at Ohio State University on Monday morning, according to the Columbus fire department.
One person was critically injured and the nine others were in stable condition, according to the fire department spokesman, Steve Martin. He told the Guardian the injuries were a “a variety of types, it is not all one type”.
Law enforcement officials have not released any information on the number of suspects or their condition. A warning to shelter in place was lifted around 11.30am after police said they had secured the scene.

Ohio’s governor, John Kasich, was monitoring the situation and spoke with the university president, Michael Drake, according to a governor’s office spokeswoman.
“Ohio’s thoughts and prayers go out to the Ohio State community,” Kasich said in a statement. “Be safe, listen to first responders.”
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said its field division is responding to the scene.
