Child, 2, among three hurt in 'targeted' Birmingham stabbings

Detectives have launched an attempted murder investigation following the attacks in the West Midlands. Police were called to an address in Smethwick on Tuesday where they found a 19-year-old man seriously injured. Later, the child and a woman, 35, were found at a house in Birmingham. A man in his 30s has been arrested, West Midlands Police said. 'Targeted attack' The woman is in a serious condition in hospital. The child, who suffered minor injuries in the attack in Penley Grove, Washwood Heath, has been discharged. The 19-year-old, who was found at a property in Hales Lane, is in a stable condition. Det Ch Insp Tom Chisholm said: "The investigation is at an early stage but it is believed to be a targeted attack with no risk to the wider public. "I am appealing for anyone with information to get in touch with my team." |
