Luke Watling, the general manager at The Mason's Arms pub in the road, said: "There are a lot of police cars outside Battersea Dogs & Cats Home so I imagine it's very serious.
"The road is closed from the Queenstown Road junction to the dogs home so I can imagine it's caused a lot of confusion."
Zoe  Saxby, a bar steward at Flanagans, said a Ferrari, travelling southbound, mounted the pavement on the bridge that runs over the railway, around 50 metres away from the pub.
"It mounted the pavement, it has gone over the bridge and it has gone into a parked car," she said.
