Elvis row killer Paul Abbott dies in prison

Paul Abbott, 57, battered wife Jacqueline with a hammer and was given a life sentence earlier this year. He was found dead at HMP Long Lartin, Worcestershire, on Sunday - exactly a year after killing his wife, according to the Express and Star newspaper. The Prison Service said the death would be investigated. A Prison Service Spokesperson said: "As with all deaths in custody there will be an independent investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman". Ms Abbott, aged 54, was found injured at the family home in Lodge Crescent, Netherton, Dudley, but died a short time later. Paul Abbott became angry when found out his estranged wife had sold his ticket to the concert, police said. |
