More follows... ABC7 reported that the fire started when roofing materials at a construction site ignited on a sub-roof level of the building. It was not part of the main hospital hospital building.  reports that the hospital is not being evacuated. The fire has not been determined to be a threat to patients. 
The fire has been contained by the fire department. 
NYU relocated patients who were impacted by the smoke. No injuries have been reported.
