Re “Transformation With a Tangerine Wig” (Arts pages, Dec. 21):

What have we gotten ourselves into? By electing such a thin-skinned man to the presidency, we have undoubtedly put our nation in harm’s way.

Donald Trump’s continuous tweets regarding Alec Baldwin’s uncanny portrayal of him on “Saturday Night Live” reveal far more about Mr. Trump than they do about Mr. Baldwin. If Mr. Trump cannot handle satire directed his way from a show that makes its living off skewering current events, how can he handle criticism from foreign governments and their leaders?

Mr. Trump demands attention and platitudes, but a president is subject to immense criticism. If he is unable to handle that disparagement, what will his reaction be? Mr. Baldwin recounted a fan calling to him, “We will survive this thing!” But will we?
