Fire breaks out at Bradford ice cream cafe shop and factory
(about 2 hours later) | |
A fire has ripped through two buildings run by an ice cream firm in Bradford.
Firefighters were first called to a blaze at a cafe on Great Horton Road shortly before 04:00 GMT and then, about 10 minutes later, to a fire at a factory on Spring Mill Street.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said both premises were run by Icestone Gelato.
West Yorkshire Police believe the cause of the fires is suspicious and said it was investigating.
At its height, about 60 firefighters dealt with the flames at the 40-metre long storage building on Spring Mill Street.
Both fires have been brought under control but up to 30 firefighters remain at the scene of the factory dampening down.
The fire service said the entire ground floor of the three-storey shop was "100% involved in the fire" and the last crew left the scene just after 07:00.
Icestone Gelato run two cafes in Bradford, one in Manchester and another in Birmingham. It also opened a premises earlier this year in Huddersfield. |
