Police appeal on CCTV cinema fire Man questioned over cinema fire
(1 day later)
Police investigating a fire in a disused cinema in Wrexham are appealing for information after CCTV footage showed a man leaving the building. A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fire at a disused cinema in Wrexham town centre.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Old Hippodrome on Henblas Street on Monday afternoon. The Hippodrome was engulfed in flames on Monday, forcing the emergency services to cordon off surrounding streets while they tackled the blaze.
Streets that had been cordoned off as eight fire crews fought the flames were reopened on Tuesday. North Wales Police said the man arrested has been released on bail while more inquiries are carried out.
Police are appealing to this man or any witnesses to come forward to help eliminate him from their inquiries. A joint investigation between the police and fire service is ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.
The CCTV footage showed the man leaving the building at around 1230 BST on Monday.
