The film is written by Glasgow-born Sharman MacDonald, mother of the film's star Keira Knightley. The film, which stars Knightley, was written by her mother, Glasgow-born playwright Sharman MacDonald.
It tells the story of two feisty, free-spirited women connected by poet Dylan Thomas, who loves them both. Miller plays Caitlin, the wife of Welsh poet Thomas and Knightley is Vera Philips, his childhood sweetheart.
The 62nd Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) will show 142 features from 29 countries during its 12 day run. Knightley insisted she did not feel under any extra pressure starring in a film penned by her mother and said she was "very proud" of it.

Organisers of the Edinburgh International Film Festival said it promised the best the film world could offer. "It certainly didn't worry me that my mother actually knows what sex is," she joked.
Artistic director, Hannah McGill, called the festival's shift from August to June "seismic". "It's a story about relationships. It's a story about how friendship can be ruined over an act of betrayal in the form of sex.
She admitted there was a risk in removing the film festival from the "vast cultural offering of Edinburgh in August". "You're not really going to get out of the fact that there is going to be sex involved in it."
Ms McGill claimed that the city was "overburdened" during the main festival and that August was a "sleepy time" for the international film industry. However, the Pirates of the Caribbean star revealed she was "terrified" when she was told she would have to sing on set.
She said the move would allow the film festival to "assert itself and obtain the best attendance and the best films it could". Festival patron Sir Sean Connery had his arm in a slingShe said: "I thought I was going to die. My knees actually started buckling and the first couple of takes I sounded like a pubescent boy.
The guest list for the red carpet opening gala also includes actress Joely Richardson, Sean Connery and Jaime Winstone. "Then somebody very kindly bought me a couple of shots of vodka and everything was all right after that."
Singer-songwriter Beth Rowley will perform at the festival ahead of the red-carpet premiere. Director John Maybury said he was "incredibly honoured and flattered" that his film was opening the festival.
