An online fundraising appeal set up to pay for the funeral of a young mother has exceeded its target within a day. A man has been charged with the murder of a mother-of-two in Norwich.
Friends of Kerri McAuley started the page after her body was discovered at her home in Southalls Way, Norwich on 8 January. Kerri McAuley, 28, was found dead at a flat in Southalls Way on Sunday evening.
The original target of the page was £5,000. It currently stands at more than £8,000. A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive but detectives said Ms McAuley was "subjected to a severe blunt force assault".
A man in his 20s is being held by on suspicion of murdering the mother-of-two and is in custody. Joe Storey, 26, of Murrells Court, Norwich, has been charged with her murder. He will appear in court on Wednesday.
