Version 0 of 1.

A multi-million pound development in Newry is facing delays because the council did not advertise the work properly.

Several developers are interested in regenerating the 15-acre Albert Basin site beside the Quays

However, following legal advice the council has to re-run the tendering process.

The chief executive of one of the companies which had bid for the work said the process was "a shambles".

Dr Gerard O'Hare of Parkergreen said ministers in the Stormont executive should take control of the process and claimed the re-tendering would delay the development by two years.

The retendering will have to include an advertisement in the official journal of the EU.
