A statement from the Crown Office said: "On Monday of this week, Strathclyde Police submitted a criminal report to the procurator fiscal at Glasgow and a petition warrant was then granted for his arrest.
"On Tuesday, the Crown Office obtained a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) from the Sheriff at Lothian and Borders which was immediately forwarded to the authorities in Slovakia for execution.
"The 32-year-old man was taken into the custody of Slovakian authorities today.
"The Slovakian authorities will now commence an extradition process under the EAW."
