What's your experience of discriminatory dress codes at work?
Version 0 of 1. A petition to make it illegal for employers to force women to wear high heels has received over 150,000 signatures, highlighting a lack of legal protection to guard workers from discriminatory dress codes. If you’ve experienced discrimination at work because of your appearance, we’d like you to share your story with us. Nicola Thorp who started the petition says she was sent home from her work at a corporate finance company after refusing to wear high heels. Thorp, who was employed as a temporary worker by outsourced reception firm Portico, said she was laughed at when she said the demand was discriminatory. If you’ve ever been discriminated against at work for your clothing or appearance, or have been forced to dress a certain way, we’d like to hear from you. You can fill in the form below – anonymously, if you prefer – and we’ll use a selection of responses in our reporting in print and online. |
